Abbots langley School Association

Abbots Langley School Association (ALSA) is a registered Charity, set up in 1979 to raise funds for our school.  All parents with children in school are automatically members of ALSA.

All of the money we raise goes back to the school so that we can continue to provide the extra funds that the school budget just will not stretch to.

Each year we have a variety of events targeted at specific Projects.  Events include Discos for the children, Plant Sales, Cake Sales and of course the Christmas Bazaar and Summer Fete with BBQ.  Over recent years the Project have included:

  • £12,000 to buy Netbooks for our children
  • £12,000 to refurbish the dining room so providing a brighter and modern area both for lunchtime and their lessons

For 2011-12, the target is once again £12,000 with the aim being to replace and renew the PE Equipment.  What a fantastic year to be doing this with the Olympics taking place in the Summer.  The children are already benefitting with £8,000 being passed over to the school.

All events are shown on the ALSA calendar on the Parents page of this website (www.abbotslangley.herts.sch.uk). If you are able to volunteer to assist with anything, particularly running stalls and/or setting up the Christmas Bazaar and Summer Fete, please let us know. Even the odd hour is much appreciated. We can be contacted by dropping a letter into the school office or by e-mail at alsacommittee@googlemail.com

Come along to one of our informal meetings, usually in the Unicorn pub, where we get together and make arrangements for all events. We really do need new people to help out and to share ideas - if you are new to the school (particularly Nursery/Reception) this is a great way to meet parents and get involved.  Perhaps you have a particular skill that we could benefit from – get in touch and let us know.
